Position Overview

The Position:

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead a high-profile federal consulting engagement focused on developing and deploying a suite of AI-powered web applications that support government acquisition and procurement. Serving as the primary day-to-day client lead, this individual will advise government clients as they shape and prioritize the product roadmap and oversee its implementation. The individual will lead a team of Censeo employees responsible for product management, government-wide stakeholder engagement, Scrum operations, user testing and engagement, marketing and communications, product demonstrations, feedback collection, and performance measurement. A separate contractor will provide the technical developers responsible for enhancing and maintaining the tool. Working in collaboration with government clients, Censeo will serve as an independent third party that helps guide priorities, translate business and user needs into actionable requirements, and provide indirect oversight of the technical team’s work. Responsibilities of the Product Manager include:

  • Serve as the day-to-day engagement lead and primary client point of contact.
  • Manage scope, schedules, risks, deliverables, resources, and overall project performance.
  • Lead strategies for government-wide stakeholder engagement, user research and testing, product demonstrations, marketing and communications, feedback collection, and adoption activities.
  • Lead workshops with government clients to develop a roadmap and implementation strategy for AI-powered web application.
  • Advise government clients on product strategy and facilitate decisions on roadmap priorities, sequencing, and tradeoffs. 
  • Gather and analyze user needs, translating priorities into clear requirements and tasks for technical teams. 
  • Coordinate with government clients and the separate technical development contractor to translate roadmap priorities into actionable work, guide implementation, monitor progress and quality, and identify risks while respecting the government’s direct tasking authority. 
  • Lead and mentor staff, supporting performance management and professional development. 
  • Develop executive briefings, reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables. 
  • Support proposal development, solution design, and client presentations.

  • Master's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Federal consulting leadership experience as an Engagement Manager, Program Manager, Product Manager, Project Manager, or similar role, with responsibility for client relationships, project delivery, communications, and staff performance. 
  • Product Owner or Product Manager experience in an Agile software development environment. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams of five or more consultants, developers, analysts, designers, technical specialists, and subject matter experts. 
  • Experience translating business needs into requirements, user stories, functional specifications, acquisition documents, statements of work, proposals, or related deliverables. 
  • Experience facilitating workshops, interviews, demonstrations, and requirements sessions with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis and presenting actionable recommendations to executive and working-level audiences. 
  • Understanding of the Federal acquisition lifecycle, from requirements development and market research through acquisition strategy, solicitation, evaluation, award, and post-award management. 
  • Understanding of Agile product development and product management, including roadmaps, backlog prioritization, release planning, and user-centered design. 
  • Understanding of project management principles covering scope, schedule, risk, stakeholders, and resources. 
  • Understanding of requirements gathering, business process analysis, stakeholder engagement, and executive communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CSPO, CSM, PMI-ACP, CFCM, or a comparable credential. 
  • Experience supporting federal acquisition, procurement, category management, or modernization initiatives. 
  • Experience with AI-enabled products, decision-support tools, analytics applications, or other emerging technologies. 
  • Experience advancing a new product or capability from concept or prototype through production deployment and broad adoption. 
  • Understanding of Federal acquisition policy, category management, and government-wide contract vehicles. 
  • Understanding of Human-centered design, user experience, AI and responsible AI concepts. 
  • Understanding of Cloud platforms, analytics environments, and modern software delivery practices.

Censeo Consulting Group is based in Washington D.C., a fantastic city for working professionals. We work in a hybrid setting with flexibility to work from home and work in our office conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks away from the White House. And with many of our clients also based in D.C., we have the luxury of leaving for a meeting and being back in the office in time for post-work happy hours, team dinners, and game nights.

The Fine Print:

  • The salary range is between $100,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
  • Expected travel 0-10%; may increase based on business needs 
  • This is an exempt, full-time position
  • Essential Physical Functions
    • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
    • Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
