Operations Manager

Censeo is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the following internal operations functional areas: Facilities, HR / Talent Management, Marketing, IT.

Position Description:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the business, working closely with the President, the leadership team and the entire Operations Team. Operations Manager is a key internal role, with high visibility to all staff, and will report to the President of the Company. Some key responsibilities include:   

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of all internal operations as well as strong understanding of the consulting projects and staff
  • Actively managing a number of talent related tasks and initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Staffing consultants on projects
    • Managing performance management process throughout the year; working with leadership and other members of the Operations team on performance management tasks, tracking and reporting
    • Being the internal point person on recruiting, including conducting resume screens and phone screens with potential candidates and coordinating fall recruiting teams (made up of consulting staff members)
    • Conducting strategic analyses around leverage model, hiring forecast, etc.
    • Proactively identifying issues and suggesting solutions / improvements
  • Overseeing HR function, including managing and working with outside HR support vendor
  • Overseeing day-to-day IT, including coordinating with outside IT support vendor and internal “CIO”
  • Overseeing coordination of marketing activities, which will primarily be conducted by external support. The role also includes performing some marketing maintenance tasks such as minor updates to the company website.
  • Overseeing facilities, including managing the Office Coordinator / Executive Assistant
  • Conducting analysis and making recommendations in support of process and operational improvement efforts
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA/BS required, MBA or other relevant master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience; 2+ years of which should be in a business operations role
  • Management consulting experience a plus
  • Superior creative problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and effectively manage own time and schedule
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to share and synthesize knowledge

Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes
Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and/or to develop forecasts and computer models
