Position Overview
Project Manager (Department of Justice)
The Position:
We are looking for eager, driven candidates with experience in federal project management, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and analysis to guide our teams in developing impactful solutions clients at the Department of Justice. In this role you will provide comprehensive project management support within the DOJ Criminal Division (CRM) Executive Office PMO. The Project Manager will lead multiple concurrent initiatives, facilitate cross-functional stakeholder engagement, manage requirements and delivery plans, and ensure timely execution of project workstreams across administrative units and external partners. This role requires a deep understanding of Department of Justice software systems and the ability to modernize and implement effective project management, business analysis, process improvement initiatives across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support all phases of client engagements, from strategy development to final deliverables.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trends, assess risks, and generate actionable insights.
- Manage 3+ strategic projects concurrently, varying in scope and complexity; demonstrate agility and flexibility as priorities shift.
- Execute end-to-end project management (Agile/Waterfall): chartering, planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, risk/issue management, and sustainment.
- Facilitate requirements gathering and validation through interviews, briefings, workshops, and stakeholder communications.
- Develop key project artifacts: project plans, schedules, performance metrics, RAID logs, decision logs, and communications plans.
- Coordinate across ADM units, CRM sections, external stakeholders, and vendors to drive progress and remove blockers.
- Prepare and deliver executive-ready briefings and concise status updates to senior leaders and SMEs (e.g., CIO/CFO equivalents).
- Support process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline workflows and increase productivity.
- Support implementation and sustainment activities, including stakeholder role clarity, meeting cadences, and training/adoption aids.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- 15+ years of relevant project management experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting federal clients, preferably within the DOJ or similar federal PMO role.
- Experience managing multiple strategic projects simultaneously (more than 3).
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to senior SMEs in writing and verbally.
- Experience delivering projects cutting across administrative units, external stakeholders, and vendors.
- Experience with requirements gathering/analysis/validation.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall approaches and stakeholder meeting facilitation.
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation and meet client suitability requirements.
Required Certification
- PMP (Project Management Professional) — required (no substitutions).
Preferred Certifications
- ScrumMaster Certification.
- Agile Project Management Certification.

The Location:
Censeo Consulting Group is based in Washington D.C., a fantastic city for working professionals. We work in a hybrid setting with flexibility to work from home and work in our office conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks away from the White House. And with many of our clients also based in D.C., we have the luxury of leaving for a meeting and being back in the office in time for post-work happy hours, team dinners, and game nights.
The Fine Print:
- The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
- This is an exempt, full-time position
- This role is subject to a full-time in-person work schedule in Washington, D.C. with the possibility for hybrid if approved by the client.
- Essential Physical Functions
- Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
- Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
