Position Overview

Your job title will be Data Management Specialist and you will be supporting the GSA Category Management Contract. In this role you will utilize a broad range of creative problem-solving, technical and analytical rigor, and change management skills to help develop and implement Category Strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree required, MS preferred with strong academic background
  • Highly proficient in PySpark, Scala, SQL, Python, and R required
  • Experience with visualization development using Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or similar software
  • Experience with Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR (Elastic MapReduce) environment, AI, and Machine Learning preferred
  •  2+ years as a Data Analyst developing and communicating interactive visualizations in data-rich information technology environment
  • Experience applying analytic techniques in the evaluation of project objectives and contributing to the implementation of strategic direction
  • Previous experience supporting government or military clients preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying Agile methodologies and principles

Responsibilities

1. Data Management- Ability to manage and validate data as a Database Administrator - Preferred but not required

  • Task Areas:
    • Run scripts for monthly processing (enhancement of FPDS and transaction data) and ensure completeness and quality of information
    • Write ETL that verifies the quality of incoming data, including completeness, compliance, and realism of data provided
  • Skills: High proficiency in SQL, Amazon Redshift Experience preferred

2. Data Science- Develops learning software

  • Task Areas:
    • Development of learning software to enrich procurement data with classification taxonomy
  • Skills: PySpark, Scala, Python, R, AI, Machine Learning

3. Data Visualization- Business analysis using Tableau or similar software

  • Task Areas:
    • Develops and maintains complex dashboards
    • Advises client on best practices on displaying complex data visualizations for various audiences
  • Skills: Visualization development using Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or similar software incorporating User-centered design concepts

We work in a hybrid setting with flexibility to work from home and work in our office conveniently located in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks away from the White House. And with many of our clients also based in D.C., we have the luxury of leaving for a meeting and being back in the office in time for post-work happy hours, team dinners, and game nights.

The Fine Print:

  • Expected travel 0-10%; may increase based on business needs 
  • This is an exempt, full-time position
  • Essential Physical Functions
    • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
    • Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
